Recognition for The Common Ground Forum

It’s really welcome to see that The Common Ground Forum have been shortlisted in the ‘Innovation’ category at the RSPB’s 2024 Nature of Scotland Awards.

There are lots of great projects being recognised through the shortlist for these awards (and, of course, it’s not for a mediation organisation like ours to take sides or favour any one project …) but we would point out that one positive and distinctive aspect of developing The Common Ground Forum was the use of mediation and conflict resolution approaches to build good relationships when handling difficult and contested issues around land management.

It’s an example of how mediation is being used and applied in an increasing number of situations and areas in our country. Good luck!
